Our Mission & Charities
Be a Hero for Homeless Pets
Thank you for your support of Second Life. With your help, we can all be heroes to the many homeless pets who are dreaming of second chances, cozy laps and warm beds. Without you…we couldn’t achieve our mission.
We are not a rescue group. Instead, our mission is to help many of the wonderful groups doing great things to save lives and to help spay/neuter programs prevent unwanted dogs and cats from being born. When we opened, we decided not to open a rescue that would take a piece of the limited funding…but instead, to spread it around.

To provide cash donations to animal rescue organizations with the purpose of reducing pet overpopulation through adoption, spay/neuter programs and education/awareness.
To offer a high-quality shopping experience in a clean, organized retail environment with a focus on providing excellent customer-service and great deals!
How Your Support Helps
When you shop, donate and volunteer…you help us raise funds to provide grants to the many rescue groups and organizations saving lives. Your help gives us the opportunity to help with:
- Spaying & neutering for rescued animals before they are adopted – to stop the cycle!
- Low cost spaying & neutering for family pets and community cats for TNR (Trap. Neuter. Return.)
- Vetting costs and medical care for animals brought into rescue
- Boarding of beloved pets who are affected by domestic abuse in the home
- Education promoting the human-animal bond
- Promoting pit bull awareness and education
- Rescuing animals from high-kill shelters
- And more!
Charities We Have Supported
Since opening in 2011, we are proud to have provided grants of over $1.8 million to more than 70 animal rescue groups and spay/neuter programs. We know there are many deserving organizations who give their heart and soul to save many innocent lives.

We are currently accepting grant applications for rescue groups of companion animals (dogs, cats, rabbits, birds, etc.) and low cost spay/neuter programs that help with TNR and family pets in Georgia. Get more information on our For Rescues page.
